Pavel Datsyuk hits 900 Points on Sunday to give the Wings a 6-5 win.

Pavel Datsyuk has seen a lot throughout his career, Steve Yzerman, the 1997 brawl between the Detroit Red Wings, and Niklas Lidstrom. I think it's safe to say, throughout his career, he's earned his spot on this roster, in the NHL Hall of Fame, and potentially have his #13 retired next to the "greats" like Alex Delvecchio, Gordie Howe, Niklas Lidstrom, Steve Yzerman, Terry Sawchuck, and Ted Lindsay. It 'll be a sad time for him to retire for me because all I've known of the Detroit Red Wings is their A+ rated 1st line centre, Pavel Datsyuk. It was hard letting go of Niklas Lidstrom in 2012, but wounds have healed.

Pavel Datsyuk, 37 was drafted in the 6th round in 1998 by Detroit. He didn't play his first NHL game until the 2001-2002 season where he got 11 goals and 35 points in 70 games. His prime came in the 2007-2009 seasons where he recorded 97 points each season and went to the Stanley Cup both those years against Sidney Crosby's Pittsburgh Penguins, winning one of two. He's had a +1 PPGA in 7 of 14 seasons. He's been known as the "Magic Man", pulling "Datsyukian" Dekes against the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators goaltenders. You just can never know what move he'll pull. He broke Logan Couture's ankles and just blew right past him with 5 quick moves.

Last night, Pavel hit 900 points by scoring twice to earn the Red Wings a 6-5 win on Petr Mrazek's birthday. I wish he was Ovi's age so he could hit 1000 points for sure.
